Well Done Sophie!

Last Friday Sophie organised a can collection at Oaklands School as part of The Breeze Radio Station's "Can Crusade". With little time she was able to organise a school-wide mufti day that raised nearly 500 cans to be be donated to the Red Cross. You can see more here

This task was part of the Supernova Challenges. In order to complete this Sophie had to;

  • write a letter of proposal to Mrs Trotter the school principal.
  • contact The Breeze radio station to enter
  • advertise the mufti day by creating a series of posters.
  • organise collection of the cans

Within this one task Sophie needed to perform a series of tasks in order to make this happen. This is an example of authentic learning in action!

As an aside, in recognition of Sophie's efforts The Breeze radio station gifted her a Canterbury Rugby Jersey and a $150 voucher at Hornby Mall.
