E-portfolio update

Over the past few weeks the students and their teacher have been on a steep learning curve using e-portfolios. There have been a few technical issues with the iPods and the quality of the student's explanations and reflection have been inconsistent. On the positive side there has been great progress made against the student's goals.

The purpose of the e-portfolios is for the students to collect evidence that they are making progress against their goals. This means that the people looking at the e-portfolio will see items of learning that might be mid way through as opposed to the portfolios which show the student's best work.

Anyway, as a class we have been reflecting on the process to improve the quality of the posts we are making. We have decided that...
* items from the students' books will be scanned rather than a photograph being taken to improve the quality of the image.
* the class has discussed at length how we can improve our explanations and reflections. We have decided that every post needs to include the learning intention, success criteria, what went well and what needs to be improved.

This is all part of the learning curve and from the discussions I have had with the students we should see greatly improved and more consistent posts.
